Project Summary
AIM Experts was a B2B platform I developed for the automotive industry, designed to solve a critical challenge for car dealerships: managing and syndicating vehicle inventory online. I architected and built the core web application, engineered the complex data feed systems, and executed the digital marketing strategy to grow the business.
The platform was highly effective at solving this industry pain point, and its success and technical sophistication ultimately led to its acquisition by AutoVerify, a major player in the automotive software space.
The Challenge & Opportunity
Car dealerships operate in a fast-paced environment and struggle with the manual, error-prone process of listing vehicle inventory across dozens of different online portals. The technical challenge was to create a centralized system that could automatically ingest data from a dealer’s system, enrich it with vehicle-specific details by decoding the VIN, and then syndicate it in the precise formats required by Google, Facebook, and others. The opportunity was to create an indispensable tool that would save dealerships time, reduce errors, and improve the quality of their online marketing.
My Solution & Process
My role was to build and market the entire digital infrastructure that powered the AIM Experts service.
- Platform Development: I built the web application that served as the central dashboard for dealers. This “mission control” allowed them to manage pricing, add photos, and oversee their entire online inventory from a single source of truth.
- Data Feed Architecture: The most critical component was the creation of a robust data syndication engine. I engineered this system from the ground up to:
- Decode VINs: Automatically turn a 17-digit VIN into a rich, detailed listing with vehicle features, specifications, and file photos.
- Generate Inventory Feeds: Create and continuously update complex, compliant data feeds for Google Merchant Center (Vehicle Ads) and Facebook Catalogs (Automotive Inventory Ads).
- Syndicate to Portals: Ensure seamless and accurate data delivery to various third-party advertising sites.
- Digital Marketing Execution: To acquire new dealership clients, I ran a comprehensive B2B digital marketing strategy. This included targeted Google Ads campaigns, SEO and content marketing focused on industry-specific keywords, and email marketing to nurture leads and support existing customers.
